The mission of the Romanian Society of Neurosurgery is:
- To facilitate the personal association of neurological surgeons from Romania
- To aid in the exchange and dissemination of knowledge and ideas in the field of neurological surgery.
- To sustain experimental and clinical research base in neural sciences
- Tto improve the training and teaching programs for the Romanian neurosurgeons
- To improve the Romanian health standards in neurosurgery

In present, in Romania there are over 17 neurosurgical centers, with approximately 1200 beds.
